The Lambert Hotel

London Rd, Aston Rowant, Watlington OX49 5SQ, UK – 01844 351496

I visited the Kite restaurant for Sunday lunch with the family, including 2 young children. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, but the decor and layout was very welcoming and comfortable. The food was very good and portions generous. I had a great roast pork with all the trimmings. The children cost from a children's menu, and their hamburgers were clearly great quality - thick patties, cooked well and very tasty as well. A great experience all round.

Stayed here a couple of months back. It was pretty good really. Bar a reception staff pleasant enough. Room ok. Bigger than average room. Couldn't get the room heating to work properly, but that might have been us.

Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway

Station Approach, Station Rd, Chinnor OX39 4ER, UK – 01844 353535

Great experience of the steam train, beautifully preserved. Staff are all volunteers and lovely. Tea, coffee and cakes on rail were delicious! A beautiful scenic journey.

What a lovely day out. Drinks a bit pricey and felt obliged to indulge. Kids enjoyed it. Duration is good. Could be themed a little more ti Thomas and friends but that might mean royalties and increased pricing. Worthwhile though.

Homecomforts Care Agency

9 Fox Cover, Chinnor OX39 4TH, UK – 01844 354994

Wendy & her team cared for my elderly mother with dementia for many years. Without their help and dedication she would not have been able to stay in her home for as long as she did, they went over and above to ensure she was safe, well cared for and happy. I really can't praise them enough, I would definitely recommend this agency to anyone. Thank you to all the staff who attended my mother, you are amazing.

Bledlow Parish Church

Church End, Bledlow HP27 9PD, UK – 01844 344762

This is a fascinating old village church that is well worth visiting. Regularly appears in the Midsomer Murders television series.

St Andrews Church

Church Rd, Chinnor OX39 4PG, UK – 01844 352472

This is my village church, dating back to Norman times. Had a good collection of brasses, the cartouches used to design the Rose Window in Westminster Abbey and a great, peaceful atmosphere.

Saint Andrews Church Chinnor

1 Church Ln, Chinnor OX39 4PW, UK – 01844 352472

Dating from the twelfth century, this church has been subject to various restorations over the centuries. It was old when Prince Rupert burned the village of Chinnor during the English Civil War in 1643, It is one of the largest churches in Oxfordshire, and contains a fine collection of thirteen brasses dating from 1320 to 1514, one of the six oldest Rood Screens in England, and some beautiful old stained glass. At the end of the Lady Chapel, the is a monument to a medi eval knight dating to 1270 which is believed to be one of the Danvers Family. Chinnor Church also contains sixteen paintings by Sir James Thornhill of the Apostles. These are the 'cartoons'; designs painted that were to become the Great Rose Window in the North Trancept of Westminster Abbey. There are many other interesting historical artifacts to be seen in this church which make it well with a visit in a beautiful part of the Chilterns.

Excellent service, so quick, painless and excellent quality. Just above and beyond what I expected and the cost of the product( correx sign) is brilliant which means I'll order again, as well as use vinyl frontier again for other printables.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Chinnor

Sir Charles Napier

Sprigs Holly, Chinnor OX39 4BX, UK – 01494 483011

Michelin starred gastropub tucked away at the end of a long and winding road - totally cocked up our Christmas meal booking but the a la carte food is excellent if expensive - I wasn't paying so I took advantage of the wine list too. Recommended if the budget isn't yours :-) Rumoured to have space for a helicopter if that's your thing.

Relaxed, given time to chat, get settled , not for people who like regimented time tables this is old school with time taken between courses. Good service excellent chefs, will be back soon.

Chinnor Indian Cuisine

59-61 Lower Rd, Chinnor OX39 4DU, UK – 01844 353038

Great food and friendly service. Excellent

Until a recent visit to another Indian restaurant in Princes Risborough this was my favourite, very friendly, food is very good and service is good.

The Wheatsheaf Pub

Oakley Rd, Chinnor OX39 4HX, UK – 01844 350390

We just moved to the area and I won't lie I was a bit stuck up about the place before I even went into it. It's not all fancy looking like some of the Gastro pubs and I thought it might be a pub with only locals who give you the dirty eye when you walk in. I WAS SO WRONG! This place is great, the food excellent, staff are really friendly and welcoming just like the clientele who all seem to enjoy new people. Really really pleased it's our new local. 10 out of 10 xx

Nice food good beer. All good.

Nursery and Preschools

Windmill Community Nursery

Mill Lane Community Primary School, Mill Lane, Chinnor OX39 4RF, UK – 01844 352106

My son has just left the nursery today. I cannot thank them enough for all the help they have given my son. He started out last September extremely shy and afraid of new things..this has improved so much thanks to Mrs Payne and Mrs Sanders. They have really taken great care of him and he will truly miss the nursery and the teachers. I would have no hesitation in sending my daughter there when she turns 3..have already put her name down. A fantastic place to send your children.

My son loved his time at Windmill Nursery. The teachers provided a great range of activities and experiences to help further his development. They follow the EYFS to ensure each individual child is progressing and kept safe. I can't wait for my other son to have the same enjoyment 😃
