The Ramblers Association now have a greatly improved website which is an exceptional rescource for all walkers, hykers and young families wanting to go for walks with young children. This site lists everything from historical walks to guided walks and really audious walks.

Find A Walk Near Me by Walking Britain is a truly excellent and free resource. Just enter where you are or where you would like to walk - and print out directions. The walks are graded and you can buy a specific map of the area at the same time. These are proper OS maps and weather proofed if required.

I always think of walking as one of the few activities you can do for free - and now you can with this guide!

Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the country. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks..

Camping and Caravaning

Phoenix Trail

National Cycle Route 57, Princes Risborough HP27, UK

Lovely route to walk between Princes Rosborough and Thame. Several spots along the way to join if the full 7 miles is too much.

A good long traffic free route joining Thame and almost Princes Risborough. A mixture of tarmac towards Thame and crushed limestone though some sections are becoming muddy or rough where temporary repairs have occurred. Passable on most bikes except maybe lightweight road bikes and can be busy with dogs, horses and kids. Also provides a handy cut around the back of Thame.

Diagnostic Caravans

Waterlands Farm, Chinnor, Thame OX9 3RE, UK – 01844 217192

Dave is brilliant. Pleasant friendly and knows his stuff

"I have a Vanmaster caravan that I have always taken back to Wigan for its annual service. However based on an excellent repair carried out for me by Diagnostic Caravans in the Autumn I decided to have my caravan serviced by them too. Dave Camble carried out a very comprehensive service using his Touring Caravan Annual Checklist which allows me to see what he has covered and the result of the checks he carried out. Furthermore the Caravan Damp Test was very comprehensive too. In addition to servicing the van he also carried a full clean of the van exterior and I was delighted with the results. I fully recommend Diagnostic Caravans and Dave Camble to anyone wanting a repair, service or clean of their van and they will find his charges very competitive."
